On
the London visit this year we will be set down at the Victoria &
Albert Museum, where current exhibitions are varied but include some
listed below which must be pre-booked by those wishing to attend.
- ‘Shoes: Pleasure and Pain', Exploring
footwear around the world featuring 200 pairs of the most extreme shoes
from key designers, famous wearers and collectors over 2000 years -
£10.00 Seniors
- ‘A Room from Damascus' When cities began to
modernise in the late 19th-century, many
of these decorative interiors were
removed for sale. The V&A was the earliest western collection to
acquire one. Free Entry.
- British Museum -‘Celts: art & identity'
This is the first major exhibition to examine the full history of
Celtic art and identity, and is organised in partnership with National
Museums Scotland. £8.25 Seniors.
- Frank Auerbach - (b 1931, Berlin) is a
British artist who has made some of the most vibrant alive and
inventive paintings of recent times. - £14.00 Seniors.
- There are also various free, hour long tours & talks at the V&A.
The programme for the day is as follows;
8.00 am. Depart Wild Gardens Road, Roath Park.
8.15 am. Depart National Museum steps.
12.00 pm Arrive V&A (approx).
5.00 pm Depart for Cardiff.
The total charge for the day which includes the coach & driver's gratuity is £25.00.
