The
Friends of National Museum Wales have arranged a tour to experience the
fascinating and beautiful area of Bavaria. The breathtaking
scenery of this rich region forms a wonderful backdrop to its palaces
and castles with their magnificent baroque rococo elements. Several museums which will be visited are second to none and span four centuries: * Alte Pinakothek with its outstanding 14th to 18th century works * Neue Pinakothek featuring European art and sculpture * Pinakothek der Moderne - open and spacious, in an impressive 25 metre glass dome * Lenbachhaus, featuring works by artists of the Blue Rider Movement, established in Munich 1911 The following will also be included in our visit: * Nymphenburg Palace * Linderhof Castle * Neuschwanstein Castle * Wieskirche Our tour manager will be Tom Abbot who has guided us on previous tours to Germany and those of us who have been with him previously will testify to his extensive knowledge of the art and architecture of the region. The tour should prove to be both comprehensive and engaging and should not to be missed by any Art lover. |
