On
the London visit this year we have an additional drop-off at the
British Museum, Russell Square, the first being at the Victoria &
Albert Museum as usual. *The pick-up point is the V&A only. All
members must be back at the V&A Museum by the designated departure
time. Current exhibitions are many and varied, most of which incur
admission charges and must be pre-booked by those wishing to attend. It
is for this reason we are giving members a choice of venue.
British Museum: Sunken Cities
- Egypt's Lost Worlds', Exploring Vanished beneath the waters of the
Mediterranean, Thonis-Heracleion was one of Egypt’s most important
commercial centres and, with Canopus, was a major centre for worship.

British Museum: South Africa
- The Art of a Nation From rock art made by the country’s earliest
peoples to works by South African artists at the forefront of
contemporary art, the exhibition features beautiful and important
objects, which illustrate South Africa’s rich history. £12.00: Pre-book

V & A Museum: Opus Anglicanum
- Masterpieces of English Medieval Embroidery" Discover the luxury and
artistic embroideries that England was famed for from the 12th to 15th
centuries £12.50: Pre-book only.
Museum of London Docklands - Fire! Fire!
350 years ago one of the most infamous disasters struck London – the
Great Fire of 1666. Experience the destruction of London through the
eyes of people who were there at the time, explore the evidence for
yourself and find out how the city rose from the ashes in this
interactive exhibition. £12.00: Pre-book only.
*There are also a variety of free, hour-long tours at the V&A Museum.
The programme for the day is as follows; 8.00 am. Depart Wild Gardens Road, Roath Park.
8.15 am. Depart National Museum steps.
