National Museum of Wales - Kent and Surrey Tour

Day 1, Monday 18th June
Leaving from the NMW Cathays Park, Cardiff at 8.15am, we visit the RHS Gardens Wisley in Surrey.
Entry to the gardens, but not lunch, is included. There is, however, a café available serving food and refreshments.

Later in the afternoon, the coach will take us to the 4* Spa Hotel in Royal Tunbridge Wells. There are spa and swimming pool facilities attached to the hotel.

Day 2, Tuesday 19th June

We visit two National Trust properties in Kent today. In the morning we visit Ightham Mote, a romantic medieval moated manor house set in tranquil gardens.

We then move on to Chartwell, the home of Sir Winston Churchill. Whilst lunch is not provided, there is a café serving a range of food.

Day 3, Wednesday 20th June
After breakfast the coach will drive down to Royal Tunbridge Wells. There we can wander in the Pantiles with some time for coffee and shopping. At 11.30am we leave for the famous Sissinghust Castle Gardens (National Trust) which should look stunning at this time of year. There is also an exhibition centre and excellent shop and plant sales. Again, lunch is not provided but there is choice of cafés on site.

Day 4. Thursday 21 June
On our way home we visit to the Watts Gallery, near Guildford.
The Artists’ Village is a unique Arts and Crafts gem and the home of studios, a chapel and gallery displaying the work of the famous Victorian artist G.F. Watts.
A guided tour of the Watts Gallery and light lunch will be provided.

Following our visit, we would hope to arrive back in Cardiff at approximately 5.30pm

The cost of the visit for two people sharing a double/twin room is £440 per person or £535 for single occupancy. Please include a cheque for £100 per person (non-refundable) with your application form.

The cost includes: dinner, bed and breakfast for three nights at the 4* Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells, entry to the RHS Gardens Wisley on day one, and guided tour and lunch at the Watts Gallery on the final day, together with all gratuities. Please remember to bring sensible walking shoes. There are uneven surfaces and limited disabled facilities at a number of the places we will visit.

National Trust members, please remember to bring your card with you.

National Trust non-members please add £34.25 for entry to Ightham Mote, Chartwell and Sissinghurst.
