| This
visit to the Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival is a new venture for the
Friends. It gives you the opportunity to visit the Festival by coach
and avoid the trouble of driving and parking. You will be dropped off
at a point which allows easy accessibility to the site. Please note
that there is no charge for entrance to the festival site and you have
to buy tickets only for the events you want to see. We will not be
doing that for you as we will all have different interests and so we
suggest that you buy tickets online, or select the events you wish to
attend by calling the Box Office on 01497 822 629. Tickets range from
£5 to £40 and there are normally no concessions. If you do not book for
a specific event note that there are some free events and workshops,
but these might have a limited capacity so please check event listings
for details. The festival field has necessary facilities to make your
day enjoyable and interesting even if you have not booked for an event
and you might find events that you can book on arrival. We are advised
that there will not be too much mud on the field as all the venues are
just a brief walk apart linked by covered and carpeted boardwalks.
Please wear comfortable shoes. PROGRAMME: 8.00am Depart National Museum Cathays Park; 8.15am - Depart Wild Gardens Road; Arrive at Hay at approximately 10.00am. We will leave around 5.00pm. NB: Times are approximate. THE TOTAL CHARGE for the day is £15.00. This includes coach with driver’s gratuity.
