You are invited
to accompany us to Oxford once again this year where we set down
outside the Ashmolean Museum where there is a major exhibition to
explore the early years of the career of the most famous of all Dutch
artists, Rembrandt van Rijn (1606–1669). On display will be the largest
collection of works devoted to the young Rembrandt to date, including
34 paintings by Rembrandt and a further 90 drawings and prints from
international and private collections. It will also feature the newly
discovered Let the Little Children Come to Me (1627–8), on display for
the first time in public. (Concession Price £13.40) Timed tickets will
be in operation so please note our arrival time at the museum. Booking
is strongly recommended.
Members will be free to visit some of the many institutions that make
this city famous including Christ Church College. Should you wish to
see the whole college the entrance is at Meadow Gate (Concession
£14.00). This includes access to the Quads, Cloister, Hall Staircase,
Hall and Cathedral but perhaps one of the best kept secrets is Christ
Church Picture Gallery (Concession Price £2.00). Located within the
walls of Christ Church enter through Canterbury Gate off Oriel Square
(from King Edward Street). The custodian at the gate will direct you to
the gallery. Oxford University Museum/Pitt-Rivers Museum. Entrance to
